On the March 17th Release Update and we incorrectly stated there would be a Firefox 3.6.29 on April 24th as the final release for the Firefox 3.6.x branch. Firefox 3.6.28 released on March 13th is the final release on the Firefox 3.6.x branch. However, in the unlikely event of a chemspill update resulting in a Firefox 3.6.29 release, this in turn would be the final release. Been meaning to post a link to this very good article about encryption I came across towards the end of last year via a Mozilla blog. For those of you who recently updated to Firefox 11 and have discovered the changes Mozilla has made with the way standalone images (right-clicking on an image and selecting ‘view image’), here is an add-on that ‘fixes’ this for you. Old Default Image Style restores the Firefox 10 and older style of viewing standalone images. Even better, this add-on does not require a restart, simply install and you are ready to go instantly. Finally! Someone has come out with an add-on to undo the mess Mozilla created with the UI in Thunderbird 11. Rise of the Tools restores the Thunderbird UI back to what it was prior to Thunderbird 11. No restart needed, simply download and then either drag it into the Thunderbird add-ons manager or from within the Thunderbird add-ons manager click on the ‘Gear’ and select Install Add-on From File… This also works with Thunderbird 12 Beta, Earlybird 13 Alpha 2 and Thunderbird 14 Daily builds.

Updated Thunderbird on the laptop this morning to the new version 11.0 and noticed Lightning had stopped working. That is normal as whatever version of Lighting is installed only works with one version of Thunderbird. Looked in the add-ons manager and noticed there was an update of Lightning ready to go, just needed to restart Thunderbird for it to install. I tried to restart Thunderbird but noticed even though I had clicked the restart it was still running in the background. After killing the process and restarting Thunderbird it acted like Lightning was not even installed (no calendar options). I…
One of the big new features (as far as the developers were concerned) with Thunderbird 11 was having the tabs on top. It is suppose to “facilitates navigation and make it more contextual”.
